"How to be a Man" by Boy

It has certainly been an interesting summer. I typed that previous sentence out a countless number of times to somehow arrange those words into that optimal combination to perfectly and poetically describe how my summer has passed, and my highly creative and original mind came up with "It has certainly been an interesting summer." Bahahaha

Anyways, I have not posted on this blog in quite a long time because I purchased a journal, but I rarely do write in my journal anymore, so might as well write here. I guess my excuse was that I just didn't have that epic "comeback post" to launch me back into the blogosphere, a self-imposed necessity to allow myself to blog again. Comebacks always have to be epic (e.g Backstreet Boys, Destiny's Child, Ravens vs. Niners Superbowl XLVII). But meh... after weeks of deliberation and thinking, nothing... so just gotta suck it up and post.

So with this post, I felt that it would be fun to revisit my never-ending pursuit -> my pursuit to be a Man. This thought popped up from reading a post on awkwardandy.com (a disturbingly accurate portrayal of my awkward self). So I am finally a Senior, I have grown since little freshman Andy, and I would like to believe that I have grown as a Man well. However, every time I let that thought get to my head and blow up my pride, I get rocked, humbled (called a douche bag, lol), and reminded why it is an "never-ending" pursuit. And perhaps it is a welcome humbling, a reminder that my growth as a Man is not defined by my attempts to be more burly, more tough, and more manly, but is defined by my constant pursuit to be more like the "MAN." Still lots to learn, but AJJAAHHH bring it on!!

wishful summer

I stumbled upon this guy in Oregon and his little wonderful blog (http://woodandfaulk.com). He basically this builder/designer that documents his ongoing projects and dang... they are amazing. I want to be able to start creating things out of my bare hands. How fun would it be to wake up in the morning with that certain something in mind, and have the ability to just... make it. My very inarticulate hands have a hard time even writing my class notes legibly, yet to have them start molding and folding bits of leather into wonderful and supa hip$ta objects, dang. and so for now, I will have to watch this man and his God-given talents, and maybe one day I will have the time and guts to just do it. Funny how the grass always seems just a bit tad greener on the other side...

This bookstrap is AMAZING.
Maybe I will start reading more so that I can use one of these guys... :P
